About the project

Overview

This project spans multiple version updates of League of Legends: Wild Rift, each with a distinct visual theme and design language.

For each version, motion assets were developed within a tight production window of approximately two weeks, requiring fast adaptation to new visual directions while maintaining production efficiency and consistency.

Approach

To handle the constraints, each version followed a structured approach:

Extract Key Visual Language
Identify core shapes, lighting, and rhythm from static visuals

Define Motion Behavior
Translate visual elements into motion logic (expansion, symmetry, distortion, etc.)

Build Template System
Apply motion rules to all required asset types

Adapt to Formats
Extend templates into multiple aspect ratios

VERSION CASE STUDY

Patch 4A - Bright Heights

The “Bright Heights” version explores themes of hope and renewal through radiant light and kaleidoscopic structures.

The motion language is built around expanding symmetry, layered color refraction, and rhythmic light bursts, transforming the static visual into a dynamic and immersive system.

Patch 7.1 - Flat Out

Everyone carries a race deep within. On a straight stretch of road, we feel an urge to push the accelerator further. In team fights, after securing a first blood, we wonder if we can achieve a double kill, a triple kill... A perfectly executed play that turns the tide of a battle is just as thrilling as a last-second overtake in a racing showdown. Win the game like a racer, we are born to race.
